Wardrobe Malfunctions
As a fifty plus woman I have experienced many fashion mistakes and wardrobe malfunctions. A shoe with a heel that fell off in the middle of the working day - I had to go out and buy a new pair during my lunch hour.
A speeding car which shot through a puddle, splashing mud on my brand-new raincoat. The driver stopped and apologised, he even offered to pay for dry-cleaning.
Last week, I was dashing to the bus stop because it was raining heavily. My mask was on, my hands were sanitised and I was ready to board the bus. The bus swerved round the corner and pulled into the bus lane. I flagged down the bus and it came to a stop. I reached inside my handbag to the inner pocket where I keep my purse and the zip snapped. My purse and phone were trapped inside. I fiddled with the bag, jerked the zip back and forth but it still wouldn’t open. When I looked up I saw the bus was full of passengers glaring at me, thinking what is this silly woman doing? The bus driver was becoming impatient, rolling his eyes. I told the driver to go without me as I couldnt pay the fare. I sat down at the bus-stop and tore my bag apart and retrieved my purse.

Oh no so sorry to hear this happened to you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame we are such a fast paced society that everyone wants to travel 100 miles an hour at and it seems we are loosing compassion for each other.
Just know if I had seen you struggling with your bag and purse I would have paid your fare for you. As I would have been thinking you might have had an urgent appointment somewhere or another connecting bus or train to catch or a sick relative at home.
Who knows what any of us are going through in any given day. I try live by the motto to be kind always where possible.
